Fine Winchester Model 1887 Lever Action Shotgun

Manufactured in 1888. The left side of the receiver is marked with the large "WRACo" monogram, and the lower tang is marked with the four-line address/patent dates. The top breech end of the barrel is marked "12". It has a single brass bead sight, 2 3/4 inch chamber and gauges at improved cylinder choke. Blue barrel and magazine, casehardened receiver, lever and hammer, and mounted with a smooth two slab walnut forearm and round knob pistol grip stock with checkered iron buttplate. The drop at the comb is 2 1/4 inches, drop at the heel 2 1/2 inches, bore diameter is .757, the wall thickness is .1065, and the length of pull is 12 3/4 inches.

ConditionVery fine. The barrel and magazine tube retain 90% original blue finish with some thinning and light spotting on the underside of the magazine tube. There is a small blemish and some very light spotting on top of the barrel near the breech. The remaining metal surfaces retain 60% original slightly faded case colors with some areas of smooth mottled gray and silver patina. The reoiled wood is fine with some mild chipping along the left edge of the upper tang and overall light handling marks. The receiver marking is crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
