This carbine was manufactured in 1910 and is chambered for the popular .44-40 W.C.F. caliber. The top barrel flat is marked with the two-line address/1884 patent date ahead of the rear sight, and "44 W.C.F." is on the upper left flat at the breech. The Winchester oval proof is marked on the top barrel flat and top of the receiver at the breech. The upper tang is marked with the three-line model, maker, trademark marking, and the serial number is marked on the underside of the receiver. It features a German silver blade front sight and adjustable buckhorn rear sight and is mounted with a smooth walnut forearm and straight grip stock with a crescent buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The rifle retains 60% plus original blue finish overall with some muzzle and edge wear, a small amount of minor spotting, and some thinning, smooth gray patina and some minor scratches on the receiver. The lever, forend cap, and lever have a smooth mottled gray patina. The wood is very good with scattered minor dents, dings, and scratches. The markings are clear. The action is excellent.
