Fine First Generation Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Factory Letter

Manufactured in 1903. Two-line Hartford address on top of the barrel and "38 W.C.F. on the left, two-line/three-date patent marking on the frame followed by the circled Rampant Colt. "2166" assembly number on the loading gate and matching numbers on the frame, trigger guard and back strap. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, blue finish, grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 of 25 to Simmons Hardware in St Louis, Mo. On February 20, 1903.

ConditionFine. The revolver retains 70% original blue finish with muzzle and high point wear, some minor pitting on the muzzle and front edge of the cylinder, several minor dings on the underside of the barrel and some gray patina on the grip straps. The frame and hammer show 40% original case colors. The grips are excellent. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent.
