This beautifully embellished Winchester Model 21 features dual bead sights, thin gold inlaid bands around the muzzle with wedges of fine scroll engraving, wedges of bold semi-relief scroll engraving with semi-relief gold highlighted game birds just forward of the breech, 2 3/4 inch chambers, and automatic ejectors. The underside of the barrels are marked "WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL" with "WS-1/WS-2" marked chokes. The jeweled water table is stamped with the three-line model and address marking and the Winchester "WP" proof. The coin finished frame and added side plates feature wonderfully engraved dog and bird scenes with detailed backgrounds and contrasting gold inlaid hunting dogs and game birds. The balance is covered in broad, flowing scroll with a carefully pierced through break lever forming a bird in flight and relief engraved flowers on the fences. The underside of the receiver is marked "SKEET" in fine gold inlay with a gold inlaid woodcock on the trigger guard. Though the engraving is unsigned it certainly shows a master's knowledge of the art. Fitted with a single selective trigger and tang mounted thumb safety. Mounted on an attractively figured fancy walnut beavertail forearm and pistol grip stock with fine line checkering, engraved fittings, smooth horn grip cap, and a solid Pachmayr pad. The consignor attributes the false side plates, engraving, and stock work as being Pachmayr custom. The barrel and stock measurements are: bore diameter at 9 inches from breech .613/.613 inch; wall thickness at 9 inches from breech .043/.043 inch; drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/4 inches; length of pull 14 inches. Includes a leather mutton leg style case fitted for two guns with a key. The closure strap on the case id stamped "PE".
