This trade gun was manufactured in Belgium and has "J. A. PETRY/1854" on the tail portion of the lock, "LA" and "sitting fox facing left/LA" marks at the center of the lock, period spurious "LONDON" marking and false English proofs on the three stage barrel along with a Liege proofmark, "wedding band" transitions, blade front sight, and interesting cut notch rear sight. The side plate is the traditional serpent, and the stock has somewhat crude flat and tang carving and a squared butt.
