This is an example of a West Germany manufactured Crown Grade Mark V Rifle, Weatherby's best grade rifle and available on a custom order basis only. The barrel is fitted with a non-factory muzzle brake and has a factory floral scroll and punch dot engraving at the breech. The engraving is a 9 1/2 inch section with "WEATHERBY/.300 MAGNUM" marked on the left side and the "MADE IN GERMANY" marking on the right side. The factory engraving extends to the receiver, bolt shroud, and the hinged floor plate. The receiver has Mark V markings. The rifle was manufactured without sights and is fitted with engraved swivel style Buehler bases, engraved scope rings, and a Weatherby variable 2 3/4-10x scope. Jeweled fluted bolt and follower, serrated trigger, and knurled bolt handle. Mounted on an exhibition grade pistol grip stock with rosewood forend and grip cap, a contrasting diamond insert on the grip cap, raised cheekpiece, sling swivel studs, and a vented factory recoil pad. A fancy carved floral pattern is present on the forearm and grip area, and a contrasting diamond pattern is featured on the right side of the buttstock. An engraved gold diamond insert is on the underside of the forearm.
