Description:

Manufactured in 1894. According to the table on page 257 of "The Parker Story" by Gunther, Mullins, Parker, Price, and Cote, only five Grade 0 Parker shotguns were manufactured with 34 inch twist steel barrels, in 8 bore chambering. Single brass bead sight on the matte rib marked "PARKER BROS. MAKERS. MERIDEN CONN. TWIST" with 3 1/2 inch chambers, and a single extractor. The casehardened receiver has light zig zag border engraving and simple line engraving on the hammers, trigger guard, and tangs. Mounted on a checkered splinter forearm and pistol grip stock with a checkered hard rubber grip cap, silver initial shield on top of the wrist, and a checkered hard rubber Parker Brothers "Dog's Head" buttplate. The stock dimensions are: drop at comb 2 1/4 inches; drop at heel 3 inches; length of pull 13 inches; weight 14 Lbs. 10.7 Oz.

Rating Definition:

Fine as refinished and stock repaired. 40% of the thinning brown finish remains with areas of a mottled brown/gray patina, several dents on the right barrel, and a replaced front sight. The receiver and lock plates have a mottled gray/brown patina overall and visible though light markings. The wood is fair with mostly smooth checkering, an overall dark color, repaired breaks visible around the wrist, and a broken buttplate repaired with a third screw. Mechanically very good.
