Constructed from a combination of brass and steel components, this belt loading tool is marked with a serial number of "9649", an assembly number of "101", and a brass plate marked "MANUFACTURED BY/COLTS PT F.A. MFG. CO/HARTFORD, CT., U.S.A./PATENTED JAN 13. 1920". Though not marked for a specific cartridge, the length of the feed port (3.08 inches) would be appropriate for the .303 British cartridge (3.075 inch overall length), suggesting use with a Vickers gun or similarly chambered weapon. The cartridge hopper, crank handle and table/bench clamp detach for storage, and all components fit in the included hardwood case.

Very good. The components show light wear and handling marks overall, with a bright appearance to the brass and deep original color on the blued components. The case is fair, with the carry handle detached but included, as well as some cracks and dents. The lid shows a different color than the body, and some of the latch hardware may be replaced. While not tested, the loader appears to be in good mechanical order.
