Collector's Lot of Two Argentine 45 ACP Semi-Automatic Pistols, Including a "B" Numbered Ballester-Molina

A) British Proofed "B" Prefix Argentine Hafdasa Ballester-Molina Pistol

Manufactured in Argentina, the Ballester-Molina was the successor to the Model 1927 Pistol, a licensed copy of the American Colt 1911. The "B" prefix of the serial number and the British proofs are associated with a series of pistols produced expressly for sale to the British government during the Second World War, and was used as sidearms by the British 8th Army, as well as a number reportedly shunted to the Special Operations Executive, which was in need of non-British ordnance to equip their agents. Fixed sights, with the three-line model and caliber markings on the left side of the slide, British "NP" nitro proof and tonnage markings on the chamber, and London "crown/GP" stamps on the slide and frame. Matching numbers are present on the barrel, slide and frame.

ConditionExcellent, with 97% of the original blue finish, showing some mild edge wear, a few areas of plum patina and moderate handling marks. The grips are very fine with some chipping and dings. Mechanically excellent.
