A Mauser Gewehr 98 derivative built on order for the government of Persia by CZ of Czechoslovakia. Blade front and tangent rear sights, with the Persian Lion crest on the receiver ring, untranslated makers marks on the left sidewall, and matching (Persian) serial numbers on the receiver, bolt and buttstock. Included with the rifle is a brown leather sling, a bayonet (21" OAL, 15 1/2" blade, wood grips, black finished sheath), and the original matching numbered test target.

Excellent plus, as issued, with 98% plus original blue finish, showing a dew minor rubs and handling marks, as well as traces of vintage storage grease in the low areas and crevices. The stock is in equal condition, with a few light scuffs. The bayonet has heavier traces of grease and what appears to be the original protective paper wrap around the grips and pommel, and the target shows creasing and crazing appropriate to age. Mechanically excellent.
