Description:

Offered here is a unique, unmarked European double action percussion revolver. Per the consignor the revolver was manufactured before 1865. The rifled octagon barrel is equipped with a dovetailed blade front sight on the upper right flat. The revolver lacks a rear sight. A loading lever is mounted to the left side of the barrel. The barrel is secured to the frame via two screws on the top strap. When the screws are removed the barrel can be unscrewed from the frame. The 6-shot cylinder has an etched double band. The two-piece varnished walnut grips are checkered and held to the frame by three screws.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel, cylinder and trigger guard retain 60% original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The remaining metal surfaces have a mottled bright appearance. The grips are fine showing some minor handling marks and a few blemishes in the overall crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
