LONDON." stamped on top of the barrel,1-6 marked on the chambers, London Gunmakers' Company private proof and view marks, floral and scroll engraving patterns, loading plunger, bar hammer with witness slot to aid in sighting (the front sight is still obscured until the trigger is pulled part way), English scrollwork patterns on the action, finely checkered grips, and a cap compartment in the butt. Edward London was active at 51 London Wall from 1826 to 1866. Transitional revolvers were an important, though short lived, part of the evolution of revolving firearms.

Rating Definition:

Very good with mottled gray patina throughout and some light pitting and minor marks. The markings and engraving patterns are distinct. The grips are very fine and have minor handling and storage type marks in the otherwise crisp checkering. Mechanically excellent.
