One of an estimated 15,000 or less manufactured in 1871-1888 based on Joseph Rider's patent. These were among the first pistols to use tubular magazine and offered 6 shots of .32 extra short rimfire in a pistol approximately the same size as Remington's famous double derringers designed by William Elliott. Most were engraved making plain examples like this rare. It is marked "E REMINGTON & SONS. ILION NEYR/RIDERS1 PAT. AUG. 16TH 1871 R" on top of the barrel and has standard sights. It comes with a modern hardwood case with English fitted interior lined in wine colored velveteen fabric.

Rating Definition:

Fine with a mix of 70% original nickel plating, bright exposed surfaces, small patches of light pitting, and light surface scratches throughout and aged patina on the brass. The grips are very good with a few dings. Mechanically excellent. The relined case is very good with mild storage wear including some minor dents and grain separation.
