Originally manufactured from 1942 to 1945, this example was later elaborately embellished by Master Engraver Kurt Jaeger (1917-2003). The engraving consists mostly of a relief oak leaf and acorn pattern on a matte background which is featured on the barrel at the muzzle and breech, frame sides, trigger guard, cylinder flats, butt and back strap. There are gold inlaid line borders. The front strap has a panel of checkering accented with entwining lines. The rear of the cylinder has two engraved dot bands. An engraved barrel rib with blade sight as been added. The barrel retains the Smith & Wesson markings. "KURT JAEGER, MAINZ" is signed on the left side of the top strap. The hammer and trigger sides are jeweled. Comes with a hardwood case.

Very fine as Master embellished. The revolver retains 99% plus of the blue finish showing the slightest handling marks. The grips are excellent. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine showing some minor handling/storage marks and some high spot wear on the lining. A masterpiece of firearm art done by renowned Master Engraver Kurt Jaeger.
