Documented Smith & Wesson First Model 44 Hand Ejector Triple Lock Double Action Revolver with Factory Letter

Manufactured from 1907 to 1915 within the serial number range 1 to 15375. It has the very desirable triple lock mechanism, desirable 6 1/2 inch barrel with standard address and caliber markings, and matching serial and assembly numbers. The included factory letter confirms the features of the gun and that it was shipped on 10 January 1916 to Wimberley Thomas Hardware Co., Birmingham, AL.

Rating definitionFine. The revolver retains 50% plus original blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina and a number of minor handling marks. The hammer and trigger retain 70% original case colors. The grips are very good with a minor crack near the bottom (right panel), some minor pressure dents and some worn checkering. Mechanically excellent.
