The Model 61 was designed a streamlined pump action .22 rifle to replace Winchester's old fashioned external hammer rifles in 1932 with a particular eye towards competing with Remington and Marlin's "hammerless" rifles. This example dates to 1947 and includes a Hoffman Hardware Company receipt dated "2-28-57" listing this rifle as sold at wholesale for a $33. It has the standard markings and features. A factory box with matching numbered end label and a manual are included.

Excellent. 98% plus of the bright original finish remains. There is cycling and edge wear, oil coating, and minor marks. The wood is also excellent and has light handling and storage marks. Mechanically excellent. The box is very good with moderate storage wear including some torn corners and tearing at the sights.
