Manufactured in 1878 and subsequently restored in 2016 Turnbull Mfg. Co. receipt included. This is a Second Model with the dust cover guide rail attached to the top of the receiver by two screws. The dust cover has the checkered oval finger panel, and the guide rail is stamped with a small number "25." The barrel is fitted with blade front and folding ladder rear sights and is marked with the two-line address/patent information ahead of the rear sight. The upper tang is marked "MODEL 1876," and the lower tang has the serial number. The barrel and cartridge elevator are correctly unmarked with a caliber designation. The action has a set trigger. The hammer and lever are casehardened and the remaining surfaces are blue. The included Cody Firearms Records Office serial number verification states that the rifle had a round barrel, set trigger and casehardened frame when it was received in the warehouse on 22 May 1878 and shipped the next day.
