This handsome double rifle features a ramped beaded blade front, and four leaf (one standing, three folding) leaf rear sight graduated from 50 to 200 meters. The raised quarter rib is engraved in a leafy motif and marked "EXPRESS CHAPUIS ARMES FRANCE". The barrel flats are stamped with French commercial proofs and the "470 NE" caliber notation. The receiver features dark, vibrant case colors with fine English style scroll engraving, dual triggers, and a tang mounted thumb safety. Mounted on a nicely figured multi-point checkered beavertail forearm and pistol grip stock with engraved fittings, engraved steel grip cap with compartment, sling swivel studs, raised cheekpiece, and a solid Pachmayr recoil pad. Includes a leather and deer hide sling. The stock measurements are: drop at comb 1 1/2 inches; drop at heel 2 1/2 inches; length of pull 14 1/2 inches.

Excellent. 99% original blue finish remains with crisp markings, fine engraving, and light handling marks overall. The action has 98% original, deep case colors with sharp engraving, and a small silvered patch at the end of the upper tang. The wood is also excellent with crisp checkering, attractive grain and figure, rich color, and a few hardly noticeable dings. Mechanically excellent.
