The receiver ring is marked with imperial proofs on both sides and the top is marked "DEUTSCHEWAFFEN -UND/MUNITIONS FABRIKEN/BERLIN" over 1916 the year of manufacture. Standard inverted "V" blade front and rounded "Lange Vezier" rear notch sight graduated to "20". The receiver side wall is marked "GEW.98." The receiver/stock are fitted with a "W/CO/DRP" marked sliding action cover. All visible full and partial serial numbers are matching including stock and buttplate. The disk in the buttstock is marked "15.L.J.R.19.42" (Landwehr-Infanterie-Regiment 15, Kompanie 19, Waffe Nr. 42) and the wood has faint crown proofs on the right and behind the rear sling swivel. Fitted with a flat steel buttplate and leather sling.

Fine. 40% of the original thinning blue finish remains with a mottled gray patina on the balance. Displaying areas of high point and edge wear, handling marks throughout, scratches, noticeable dings, and some deep tool marks on the receiver ring. The stock is fair. The forend has been duffle cut just under the mid-barrel band and there are cracks present on the right side of the wrist. Otherwise it displays visible though faint proofs, freshened oil finish, and dings and gouges throughout. Mechanically excellent.
