Developed by arms designer Lieutenant General Kijiro Nambu as a smaller, lighter, and more reliable alternative to the then current Type 14 pistol. The frame is dated September 1935 (Showa 10.9) the first year of full production for the model. Fixed blade front and notch rear sights, correct early style rounded cocking piece, standard maker and serial number markings, straw colored small parts, and checkered grips. The pistol includes a correct Type 94 russet leather holster and two matching numbered nickel plated magazines.
