5,804-6,703 were manufactured in the late 1840s and 1850s. Dated "1848" on the lock. Standard markings and features other than the period modified/added "blacksmith fabricated" notch rear sight.
Fair with extensive pinprick pitting and mottled gray patina on the barrel and an attractive aged patina on the brass. The lock plate is fine with bright polish with spots of dark corrosion overall. The stock is fair with a wide repaired break in the wrist, numerous small chips and dings, and some minor scratches. Mechanically fine.
