Description:

Manufactured in Mexico in the early 1930s, the Obregon Pistol was intended to be a home-grown alternative to the Colt Government Model for the Mexican Army. In use for a limited time before being sold as surplus, surviving examples are rare. Though similar in overall profile to the Government Model, the guts of the Obregon are a whole different beast, integrating a rotary barrel locking mechanism, combination safety switch/slide catch, and integrating a magazine well safety. Fixed sights, "Sistema OBREGON/Calibre 11,43" on the left side of the slide, smooth wide spur hammer, serrated trigger, arched serrated mainspring housing, unmarked full blue magazine and checkered grips.

Rating Definition:

Fair as professionally reworked/refinished, with 70% of the current blue, showing areas of brown and gray patina, mild spotting and light handling marks. All of the markings on the frame have been re-engraved. The grips are fair, with some chips and flat spots. Mechanically fine. Nonetheless, these Obregon .45's are seldom encountered, and this example will most definitely fill a slot!
