Description:

Manufactured late in the war, this mask and bag combo was designed to be lighter and more compact than the rigid carrier "can" used by the regular infantry. The unit is stored disassembled, with the mask (marked "AEG 40" on one of the lens holders) stacked on top of the filter (marked "FE 37" and "1939/3324"). The bag is of green canvas construction with a herringbone twill zipper body and a few areas of leather reinforcement, securing the mask with two "PRYM" snaps and a zipper, stamped with a faint "eagle" black ink stamp inside the flap, and fitted with a set of green canvas carry straps. Secured to one of the straps is a smaller blue cloth pouch ink stamped "gdo/21" inside the flap.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with mild wear and staining. The mask appears in good order, though it has not been tested and the filter is long expired.
