Manufactured by William Brander in the mid-to-late 18th century. Pistols of this style wear popular during the French & Indian War and American Revolution. The muzzle flares to about 1 inch for easy loading. The caliber above is estimated. The lock is marked "BRANDER" and has simple border designs. The barrel is marked "LONDON" on top at the breech and London private proofs around a "*/WB" hallmark on the upper left flat. The side plate and thumb plate have martial designs, and the pommel cap has a grotesque mask.

Very good with attractive aged patina on the brass, dark patina and some minor pitting on the iron, chip below the nose of the lock, a few slight chips at the edges, and some dings and scratches. Mechanically fine.
