Manufactured in the 1970s by the Colt Custom Shop as part of a special run of guns specifically for Robby Shipley of the Shipley Donut Company, Houston, Texas. It is believed that Shipley gifted the guns to friends and associates and about 100 were made. The pistol is equipped with a Gold Cup trigger and has standard Colt factory markings with the addition of "ROBBY SHIPLEY SPECIAL" on the right side of the frame. Includes a commercial novelty trinket box. The inside of the lid is lined in silk with an embroidered label claiming the gun's history, calling it "Prototype 1972 1 of 6" (serial number places production in 1975).

Excellent overall with 99% plus original finish remaining and showing a few minor scratches. Mechanically excellent .
