Whitney Pre-Model 1812 New York Militia Contract Flintlock Musket

Manufactured in 1808-1812. Features: bayonet stud on top, brass blade front sight on the rear part of the front barrel band, a "P" proof and "NY" on top of the barrel at the breech, and "N. HAVEN" in a scroll on the lock.

ConditionGood as reconverted. The metal has a blend of gray and brown patina and some mild pitting. The lightly sanded revarnished stock is also good with repairs between the upper barrel bands, minor nicks and scratches, and a hairline tension crack at the rear lock screw. Mechanically fine.
