Manufactured in 1891 as a third model with the dust cover rail integrally machined to the receiver. It has dovetail front blade and elevation adjustable rear sights, a barrel with the two-line address/patent marking ahead of the rear sight and "22 LONG" at the breech, a cartridge elevator marked "22 CAL./LONG" and a crescent buttplate. Winchester sold approximately 19,000 Model 73 rifles in .22 caliber (short and long) from 1884 to 1904.
