Manufactured in 1850. Floral scroll custom engraving in factory pattern on the frame, barrel, loading lever and back strap. The top of the barrel is marked "ADDRESS SAML COL/NEW - YORK CITY" and the left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/PATENT". The cylinder is roll engraved with the Stagecoach Holdup scene. The matching serial number is marked on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, cylinder (restamped) and back strap. The partial number "4023" stamped on the wedge and loading lever. Brass pin front sight, square back trigger guard and fitted with smooth one piece burl walnut grips. Comes with a wooden case with hunter green lining. In the case is an unopened box of 6 combustible envelope cartridges, a partially full Eley Bros. cap tin, a Colt eagle flask, "L" shaped screwdriver/nipple wrench, a brass "COLTS PATENT" marked two cavity bullet mold and a key.

Fine as professionally custom embellished/refinished with 99% blue, casehardened and age darkened silver plating remaining. The grip shows only light handling marks. The engraving, cylinder scene and markings are all clear. The action is excellent. The case is good as relined with some minor cracks in the slightly warped lid and some wear and staining on the lining. The accessories are all good or better.
