Antique Syracuse Production L.C. Smith Quality 2 Double Barrel Side Lock Hammerless 10 Gauge Shotgun

Manufactured in Syracuse, New York, sometime before the transition to the Hunter Arms facility. Single brass bead sight, marked "L.C. SMITH, MAKER. SYRACUSE, N.Y. DAMASCUS STEEL", light scroll engraving, and line borders, automatic tang mounted thumb safety, and stock with the early style vase shaped forend tip insert and checkered hard rubber buttplate marked "THE/L.C. SMITH/TRAP GUN" . Stock measurements: drop at comb 2 1/4 inches; drop at heel 3 1/2 inches; length of pull 14 inches.

ConditionFine. The barrels have an overall gray brown patina with areas of some rough spotting and mild pitting, good visible Damascus patterns, and clear markings. The receiver and side plates have a mostly smooth gray patina with muted traces of original case colors, small scratches, and sharp engraving. The wood is also fine with well-defined checkering, pressure dents throughout, some small gouges, and linear scratches. Mechanically excellent.
