Description:

Manufactured in 1898. The no. 3 barrel has the two-line address and "32-40" markings and fitted with a globe front sight. The lower tang has the two-line patent date marking and the serial number. There is a long range tang peep sight and double set triggers. Mounted on a nicely figured schnabel forearm and perch bell stock fitted with a Swiss buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The barrel retains 50% original blue finish thinning to a brown. The receiver, hammer, breech block and lever retain 60% original case colors. The buttplate has a mixed brown-gray patina. The period replacement wood is also fine with some minor pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
