Produced from 1955 to 2005, this revolver was manufactured in 1985 as a special limited edition for the Colorado State Patrol. The factory letter states that this revolver "was kept by the Colt Factory as a sample and display revolver of special edition issue". Features ramp front and adjustable rear sights on a vent rib barrel with a checkered hammer spur, non-fluted cylinder with beveled front edge and serrated trigger and rear grip strap. Fitted with smooth wraparound rosewood grips with gold plated rampant Colt medallion inlays on each side. The right side of the barrel is marked with the standard one-line Colt address followed by "PYTHON 357/357 MAGNUM CTG". "CSP 1 of 235" is marked on the lower frame. The right side of the barrel features gold floral border scroll etching forming a box around "1935 - COLORADO STATE PATROL - 1985". The image of a Colorado State Patrol badge and similar floral gold etching is on the left rear of the frame directly beneath the cylinder latch. Complete with papers/manual and Colt woodgrain box with Colt Custom Gun Shop end label numbered to the gun. The accompanying factory letter also verifies the serial number, caliber, non-fluted cylinder, royal blue finish, rosewood grips with gold plated Rampant Colt medallions, gold etching, and "wood grain" box with Custom Shop end label.
