Description:

Less than 1,000 of these small pocket pistols were manufactured in 1861 and 1862. These were the first Remington firearms designed to fire metallic cartridges. Advertisements listed them as "Elliott's Pocket Revolvers." Many have been lost or destroyed leaving few to fill their places in advanced Remington collections. The barrel cluster and trigger are blue, and the frame is silver-plated. The left side of the frame is stamped with the three-line Elliott's patent dates (weak). Pearl grips finish off this highly attractive example.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. The barrel cluster and trigger retain 98% period possibly retailer applied refinished blue finish showing some light handling marks. The frame retains 97% plus period silver plating. The grips are also very fine with highly attractive color. Mechanically excellent. An attractive representative example of a two-tone Remington Zig-Zag Derringer fitted with pearl grips that will make a great addition to any American antique cartridge small arms collection.
