A) Colt Model 1877 Lightning Double Action Revolver

These two revolver make an excellent "instant collection" in that they represent the two major calibers of the Model 1877 line, and each is in a different combination of finishes and configurations. Gun A was is a "Lightning" manufactured in 1898 with stamped markings and the classic ejector configuration with blue and casehardened finish, and gun B is a "Sheriff's Model" ejector-less variation of the "Thunderer" manufactured in 1886 with the desirable etched panel caliber markings and nickel plating. Both have standard factory markings and features including matching partial or full serial numbers on all the major components and the grips.

ConditionVery fine with 40% original bright blue finish on the barrel and grip straps, patches of original case colors in the protected areas, mostly mottled gray patina on the balance, and minor oxidation. The cylinder is refinished. The grips are very good with mild handling wear and aging. Mechanically fine.

ConditionFine with 80% original nickel plating, flaking at the muzzle and along the grip frame, distinct etched panel, 95% original bright niter blue on the trigger and back of the hammer, remnants of bright niter blue elsewhere, and minor spotting. The grips are very good and have moderate handling wear and aged tones. Mechanically excellent.
