These Model 1814 Garde du Corps du Roi pistols have had their forends reduced and fitted with brass caps. The barrels are pinned instead of using the usual dual front barrel bands and retaining springs. The breeches have gold inlaid bands and golden "CA" hallmarks. The "Gardes du Corps du Roi" marking is not present on the top of the barrels. The locks have "crown/B" proofs and "Maubeuge/Manuf. Rle." "No. 42" is stamped ahead of the trigger guard of gun A, and removing the barrel reveals multiple proofs and the year "1815." Gun B has "n2-darbouneau" on the side plate. The trigger guards have engraved Fleur-De-Lis finials, and the butt caps have a grown and laurels surrounding three Fleurs-De-Lis, the symbol of the restored Bourbon monarchy. The trigger guard finials are both marked "J500" in black marker, and "2" (A) and "6" (B) are marked above the butt caps on the right.

Fine as period modified. The barrel has mostly gray and brown patina along with traces of original gold at the breech and light pitting. The lock is mostly bright and has some minor oxidation. The brass has aged patina. The shortened stock is good with a crack extending forward from the nose of the lock, a chip at the tail of the lock, and general scrapes and dings. Mechanically fine.

Fine as period altered. The barrel displays mottled gray and brown patina, light pitting, and patches of gold finish at the breech. The upper tang appears to be repaired. The lock is fairly bright and has mild gray and brown patina and slight pitting/oxidation. The brass has aged patina throughout. The stock is very good and has small nicks and scratches throughout, a faint hairline tension crack in the left flat, and tape residue at the back of the wrist. Mechanically fine.
