Each Smith & Wesson Registered Magnum was built to the specifications of the buyer, then registered by number to the owner by Douglas Wesson himself, the then Vice President of Smith & Wesson. This particular example, number 3032, is one of 839 Registered Magnums manufactured with a 6 inch barrel and was shipped in October 1937. It also has standard S&W markings with "REG. 3032" on the yoke, importer making on the butt, un-numbered Magna grips, matching assembly numbers on the yoke and crane and matching serial numbers on the butt, cylinder and ejector shroud. Excellent. The revolver retains 95% plus original blue finish showing scattered type holster wear, a cylinder drag line and smooth brown patina mixed with blue on the butt. Nearly all original case colors remain on the hammer and trigger. The grips are fine with a moderate pressure dent on the bottom, some minor scratches and dings and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent.
