Manufactured in 1978. The accompanying Colt factory letter confirms that this revolver with a 4 inch shrouded barrel in .38 special with model/caliber markings, blue finish, "x" electropenciled below serial number under crane, anodized aluminum alloy frame and side plate, Rampant Colt stamped on side plate and checkered oil finished wraparound walnut grips was kept at the factory as a sample and display piece. It was released from the factory in October 2008. Comes with a factory "wood grain" box numbered to the gun, which is also confirmed by the factory letter.

Near new in box. The revolver retains over 99% original blue finish showing a barely noticeable cylinder drag line. The grips are near new with sharp checkering. Mechanically excellent. The water stained box is very good with a couple of tears and much of the tape repaired end label remaining.
