Manufactured from 1970 to 1983. The factory letter states that this pistol was "a sample and display pistol kept by the Colt factory". Features fixed front and square notch rear sights on a matte finished slide with high polish blue sides. It has a serrated matte top and side polished stainless steel spur hammer and grooved trigger, grip and thumb safeties, and checkered walnut grips with gold-plated Rampant Colt medallion inlays on both sides. The right side of the slide is marked, "COLT'S GOVERNMENT MODEL", with the one-line address and serial number stamped below on the frame, and the left side of slide marked, "COLT MK IV/SERIES '70/GOVERNMENT MODEL/9MM LUGER CALIBER" followed by the Rampant Colt. Complete with above mentioned factory letter.

Excellent. 97% plus original finish remains overall. There is some scattered minor surface oxidation/spotting on the hammer and slide, in addition to some minor scratches/handling marks (mainly confined to the matte finish). The grips are in near new condition. An excellent all around conditioned firearm with great documented factory display provenance for the collector.
