The included CMP bill of sale lists the rifle by serial number and states that it was sold as a barreled receiver on December 17, 2012. The Mk. 2 Mod. 1 was a stark improvement over the earlier Mod. 0 rifles, using a new manufactured Springfield barrel chambered for the 7.62mm NATO cartridge, as opposed to the sometimes troublesome chamber bushing used on the Mod. 0 rifles. Standard blade and peep sights, "5 65" dated Springfield barrel with the correct "H&R" and "7.62 NATO" conversion markings on the chamber. Of the 15,000 rifles converted by Harrington & Richardson, only 25% were in Mod. 1 configuration with the rest being the earlier Mod. 0 type. Standard GI stock with a single circled "P" proof on the wrist, checkered trapdoor buttplate, and green canvas web sling. With CMP certificate of authenticity. Provenance: Bruce Canfield collection.
Fine as arsenal refurbished and updated to Mod. 1 specifications. 90% plus post-war green parkerized finish remains with scattered small surface scratches, cycling marks, and light edge wear. The stock is also fine with numerous small dings and dents. Mechanically excellent.
