Rare Class III/NFA "Sales Sample" Fully Automatic German Heckler and Koch G3 Machine Gun

This is a rare early HKG3 fully automatic machine gun that was probably original sold as an export rifle and then later imported into the U.S. prior to 1986. It has the original HK factory markings on the right side marked , "Made in Germany/Hk Inc./Arl. Va.22201" with left side marked, "HKG3 14U 985/Cal.308/ID" manufacture's code for 1984. It has the pin-pin lower trigger group with ambidextrous markings on both sides of the trigger housing marked "O/1/20", indicating "Safe/Semi/Fully Auto". The receiver has the standard adjustable drum rear sight graduated "2-4" (200-400 meters) with a fixed post front sight. As noted, it is fitted with the early 1980s green plastic forend, pistol grip and buttstock. It has the original blue/gray painted metal finish. It is complete with one 20-round steel magazine, a spare firing pin and spring, push pin and two carrying handles.

ConditionVery fine with 95% of the HK factory painted metal finish showing wear around the ejection port and upper left and right sides of the receiver where a scope was once attached. The plastic furniture is all in very fine condition showing only minor handling marks from light use. A scarce early HKG3 machine gun. NOTE: This weapon is a restricted, National Firearms Act (NFA) Class 3, Fully Automatic Weapon, that is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478. This weapon will update at time of transfer as being "LIMITED TO USE AS A SALES SAMPLE (Pre-86)" and as such can only be purchased by an FFL, with a Class 2 or Class 3 SOT License.
