1868 Dated Prussian Bolt Action "Dreyse Needle Gun" with Scarce Double Set Triggers

Marked "STAHL" on top of the barrel at the breech, "1868 1868" on the right side of the receiver at the rear, "Soemmerda F v D" and "B.B. Mod 65" on the left side of the receiver at the rear, matching serial numbers on the left side of the barrel and receiver ring as well as the tail of the bolt, partial matching serial numbers elsewhere, standard Prussian proofs, dovetailed blade front sight and notch and three leaf rear sight, double set triggers, cleaning rod, and sling swivels.

ConditionVery good with dark brown patina, mild oxidation, slight pitting, dark aged patina on the brass, mild edge wear, and various marks and scratches. Mechanically needs work as the firing pin spring is broke. The stock is good and has dark oiled finish, numerous scrapes and dents, and some minor chips. The Dreyse Needle Guns are important pieces in the evolution of modern bolt action firearms and saw significant use in the Austro-Prussian War
