Operating out of his home workshop in California, John Martz is best known for his alterations and upgrades of Luger and P-38 pistols, all of which were performed by him and often took several months of work. Constructed using parts from a DWM 1906 "American Eagle" commercial Luger, the barrel and grip frame of the pistol have been elegantly shortened, maintaining the unique Luger profile in a more handy size. Blade front and notch rear sights, with the "American Eagle" on the chamber, the "DWM" monogram on the toggle, military proofs on the extension and toggle, and "JVM" and "133-11" in ovals under the side plate. Grips are attractive checkered walnut with smooth borders, a smooth grip safety equipped back strap and two "JVM" marked wood based magazine numbered "1" and "2".
