Manufactured by John Martz and marked as part of a limited edition of 10 firearms, this pistol closely follows the German Kaiserliche Marine pattern for the Second Model Navy Luger pistol with three chief deviations. First, a Martz Safe Toggle Release has been installed, turning the safety lever into a multi-function safety and toggle release. Second, the markings have been customized, with "1983" on the chamber and "JVM" on the front toggle link, as well as "JOHN V. MARTZ/Thirty-eight Super/LIMITED EDITION No3 OF 10" on an inscription plate on the left side of the frame. Finally, and most critically, the pistol has been dimensionally altered and beefed up to run on the 38 Super cartridge, requiring expansion of the grip frame among other changes. Fitted with a blade front and two-position notch rear sight, with "JM", "GCM" and "3 OF/10" marked beneath the side plate. Fitted with a set of smooth bordered fancy walnut grips, which are numbered 3 of 10 and marked "CUSTOM MADE BY GALE C. MORGAN" on the interior, and two custom magazines marked "1" and "3" respectively on the hardwood bases.

Near mint, with 99% plus quality custom blue finish, showing a bit of rubbing on the stock lug and mild cycling wear and handling marks overall. The grips are also near mint, with sharp checkering and attractive grain and color. Mechanically excellent.
