Manufactured in 1875 and featuring a Colt retailer engraving, silver plating and rare DeGress gold-washed relief cast grips. The vast majority of DeGress grips were silver-plated. The barrel has the two-line Colt address stamped on the top and the etched caliber panel "COLT NEW 30" surround by engraving on the left side. The engraving consists of New York geometric, scrollwork and punch dot patterns. The grips have the patent marking and a blank shield on the left side and a horse head on the right panel. The barrel is numbered to the gun. Provenance: Gillespie collection.

Fine as period retailer embellished. The revolver retains 60% of the aged darkened silver plating with the balance a smooth gray patina. The etched panel is clearly legible. The grips retain 90% of the gold wash. Mechanically excellent.
