Description:

Likely manufactured in France in the 1860s to 1870s. The only markings are "CB" on one of the cylinder ratchet teeth and a "1" between two of the chambers (writer will yield to potential buyer whether the aforementioned number 1 is a serial number or assembly number). There are some slight engraved accents at the corners of the frame. It comes in a French fitted rosewood veneered case with silver plaque on the lid, an embossed box, and a Tecalemit grease gun from the first half of the 20th century.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 70% of the bright original blue finish remaining, most of the finish loss on the cylinder, brown patina in the faded areas, minor oxidation, and light scratches. The grip is very good with crisp checkering, minor scratches, and some small dings. Mechanically fine. The case and accessories are all good with moderate wear and aging.
