Dubbed the "Gray Ghost" for its full coverage phosphate finish, these P-38 pistols were produced using Mauser facilities occupied by the French at the end of World War II, making use of the machines, designs, and the available stock of Nazi-made spare parts. Fixed sights, with the model and "svw/45" markings on the left side of the slide, matching numbers on the slide, frame, barrel and locking block, French "5-pointed star" proofs on the slide, barrel and locking block, and a "WaA135" stamp on the left side of the barrel. The grips are ribbed full metal construction.
