Weighing in at an impressive 22 pounds, this incredibly large percussion rifle features square blade front, fixed notch rear sights and a super heavyweight rifled barrel. The lock plate is aptly inscribed "King Kong" and features flourishes of fine floral scroll engraving. The trigger guard, extended upper tang, and comb plate are also engraved with fine flowing floral scroll. Fancy checkered maple stock with a contrasting forend cap, raised shadow line cheekpiece (on the right side), and an appropriately thick Decelerator recoil pad. This is the only 2 bore sporting rifle manufactured by gunsmith Steve Zihn, Shoshoni, WY. According to his research, this was also the very first 2 bore sporting rifle ever manufactured, with prior non-sporting examples being wall guns, punt guns, or used for whaling. The rifle also includes copies of photographs of the rifle being manufactured.

Excellent overall. 99% original blue finish remains with scattered light handling marks and sharp engraving. The stock is also excellent with highly attractive color and figure, crisp checkering, and a few small scattered dings. Mechanically excellent. An incredible work of gunsmithing deserving of the name King Kong.
