Single brass bead sight at the muzzle of the half octagon barrel with a filler block in the rear sight dovetail, and matted sighting plane. The barrel is marked "HOLLAND & HOLLAND. 98 NEW BOND St. LONDON-250 SEMI SMOOTH BORE" on the right and "WINNERS OF ALL THE FIELD RIFLE TRIALS PATENT/No.1294" on the left. The barrel has been bored out to .410 with a 2 3/4 inch chamber and open choke. The receiver and trigger guard are engraved with light splashes of fine scroll, with a toggle safety, and gold inlaid "SAFE" marking. Checkered forearm with horn end cap, and pistol grip buttstock with an engraved steel grip cap and flat steel buttplate. Length of pull is 13 1/2 inches.

Fine as refinished with 98% of the blue finish on the barrel, clear legible markings, and small traces of light pitting around the breech end. The receiver has a mostly gray/brown patina with traces of muted original case colors, some light spotting, and handling marks. The refinished wood is also fine with well-defined checkering, small scattered dings, and light oxidation on the buttplate. Mechanically very good.
