Description:

This is an example of a very desirable Model 1919A4 fully automatic medium machine gun as manufactured by the DLO Manufacturing Company from the late 1970s through the mid-1980s. These were manufactured by using a combination of new-made receiver plates combined with American and or Israeli military surplus components. They were all made by the DLO Manufacturing Company (Douglas Laurence Oefinger) in Stamford, Connecticut. This is a fully functional Browning designed Model 1919A4 medium machine gun chambered in 30-06. Originally designed after WWI and were actually produced by the Saginaw Steering Gear Division of General Motors. They saw considerable service throughout WWII, Korea and even into Vietnam and then were also sold/exported and heavily used by Israel in the early 1940s during their war for independence. They are very well built and extremely reliable and are considered by many one of the best John Browning designed MGs ever. The right side of the receiver has the six-line factory inscription listing both the Saginaw/DLO nomenclature markings. It has the perforated barrel jacket and folding sights. It comes with an original U.S. manufactured ".30 M2" tripod that is stamped with "RIA-1955", and "ANAD 4-72" markings, a rewelded Model 1917A1 tripod with a late-style pintel adapter and T&E mechanism, an original brass/steel belt loading machine with its wooden storage box, 60 original canvas ammunition belts, a canvas tripod/mount cover, an American Seating Company back board, four wooden and one metal ammunition can. This lot also includes approximately four fully loaded canvas ammunition belts. Each belt is marked "250" rounds, totaling approximately 1000 rounds of ammunition. There are approximately 250 rounds with a late FN head stamp and 750 rounds that are marked "OJP III, 61" indicating it was manufactured in 1961 by the Osterreichische Jagdpatronenfabrik (OJP) company in Tirol Austria.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as assembled/manufactured by the DLO company with 95% plus of the medium gray parkerized finish overall with only light edge and high spot wear overall showing signs of light firing. The various accessories are all in fine condition overall with the spare cloth/canvas ammunition belts being in like new condition. A very nice all complete and ready to go DLO manufactured Model 1919A4 medium machine gun with a ton of accessories and ammunition. NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
