Description:

Introduced in 1935 by Charles J. Manville the "Manville Gun" was designed to fire flare, smoke, and riot gas shells from its 18 round clockwork drum. The device is broken down and loaded by loosening two large screws on top of the frame, separating the clockwork and trigger assembly from the drum and barrel assembly, the drum is then turned counter clockwise to "load" the internal spring allowing the cylinder to rotate with each pull of the trigger. The most noted use of the Manville Gun was by Indiana National Guard troops during the Terre Haute General Strike of 1935. With leatherette carrying case.

Rating Definition:

Fine. The alloy surfaces have a frosted appearance with small dings and scratches and the bright steel barrel has some light brown patchy oxidation. The grips are very good with an over long replacement screw, and small dings overall. Mechanically very good. Case is fair with small tears and scuffs throughout the exterior, and tears on the interior cloth lining.
