Introduced in 1935 by Charles J. Manville the "Manville Gun" was designed to fire flare, smoke, and riot gas shells from its 18 round clockwork drum. The device is broken down and loaded by loosening two large screws on top of the frame, separating the clockwork and trigger assembly from the drum and barrel assembly, the drum is then turned counter clockwise to "load" the internal spring allowing the cylinder to rotate with each pull of the trigger.
