Manufactured in 1884 and subsequently custom engraved. The accompanying factory letter lists this as a standard configuration rifle with an octagon barrel in .32 caliber and plain trigger when it was received in the warehouse on September 3, 1884, and shipped on September 5. Fitted with combination Beach front, elevation adjustable rear and tang peep sights. The receiver engraving consists of floral scrollwork along with a game scene inside a circular panel. The barrel has the two-line address/patent dates information and "32 CAL," and the cartridge elevator is marked "32 CAL." The straight grip stock has a buttplate with trapdoor (contains a bottle of oil).
Very good as custom embellished. The rifle has a mottled gray patina. The wood is fine with some minor pressure dents and scratches. Mechanically fine.
